McKinney and his crew made up of Peter Hauff and Lars Horn Johannesen registered a first, second and fifth in races on Thursday.
The weather conditions on Friday prevented the boats from sailing, but they got underway again on Saturday and completed the final two races of the five race series.
McKinney collected two second place finishes that gave him a score of seven points in the sloop John B.
"In this type of racing, the scoring judges would calculate your best three place finishes and then calculate it for the average score which was 7 points for McKinney," said Jimmy Lowe.
Lowe said it was a tough race for McKinney as 15 boats participated in the event.
"This is a tremendous achievement for McKinney and his crew as they were able to display the Bahamian dominance during the mini Regatta.
"With the big one starting on Monday (The Championships), it is going to be really tough for the Bahamas as they will have to use all of their experience going up against Netherlands and the defending World Champions of Switzerland.
"The Silver Fox is a new boat for the Bahamas and she will be a challenge for McKinney and his regular crew," said Lowe.
The World Championships segment of the regatta is to start as scheduled on today. The weather forecast is calling for windy conditions, favorable for sailing.
"In the World Championship there are seven races and your best five positions will be calculated and averaged out to give you your final score," said Lowe.
