Although the Artemis XIV is in front, The Bahamas was able to secure a victory on Thursday to move into second place ahead of the defending World Champions Ali Baba, out from Switzerland.
Bahamian Gavin McKinney who sails the John B said the victory was an exciting one. The team heads into today's finale in prime contention.
"The weather conditions on Thursday were perfect for us and everyone out there."
"We have to get in a good race on Friday to remain in the medal contention and stay ahead of everyone as we did on Thursday," said McKinney.
McKinney said as they get ready to head into the final day. Their weakest finish has been drop from the total points and he hopes to stay in the medal hunt.
Leader Kristian Nergaard pointed out his slow start but expressed happiness at being able to overtake Switzerland to take second place behind McKinney.
"As we head into the Friday's race, we are leading and even if we are to fall back to fourth place we would still win the overall title.
"Our best races include three firsts and two second place finishes for a total of 7 points and the best behind us is The Bahamas," said Nergaard.
Nergaard promised that he and his crew are going to come out for the final race strong and ensure that the World Championship goes to Norway.
