Since moving to Andros, I have seen just how Andros or should I say the Family Islands are left out of all forms of talks especially when it comes to budgeting.
Two weeks ago, Mangrove Cay High School and last week, Burnt Rock Primary School here in Andros held their annual sports days and to my amazement, they were held on the streets.

Two weeks ago, Mangrove Cay High School and last week, Burnt Rock Primary School here in Andros held their annual sports days and to my amazement, they were held on the streets.
Once again, I was left with my mouth opened with disbelief. There were a number of occasions where students fell while competing from lack of space to run.
Why is there still a lack of facilities on this part of the island? This past weekend March 11-13, the Physical Education Teacher, Ms. Asleine Alce, took five students, all boys from the high school level to New Providence to compete in the BAA Scotiabank Nationals High School Championships, and to my amazement the results were very good.
